Format
1. This program begins with the classroom teacher introducing the costumed session leader.
2. We compare the clothing the presenter is wearing to the clothing the children are wearing.
3. We compare and contrast transportation in the 1800's to today.
4. We compare and contrast household items found in the historical characters home.
5. We learn about what it was like to be a child during the 1800's and play a game that children living long ago would have played.
6. Time is allowed for questions and answers.
Objectives
The participant will:
- Explore the changing forms of transportation
- Compare clothing from the 1800's to clothing today
- develop a deeper understanding of how electricity and other household technologies have changed our day to day lives
- Engage in discussion about the similarities and differences between life then and now.
