Giving students facts about maintaining their health will encourage them to make daily choices which become lifelong healthy habits.  Students will focus on decisions about choosing role models, sleeping, eating healthy foods, exercising, and holding a positive attitude and learning how to refuse a drug are age appropriate life skills.  Students will learn the effects of alcohol, tobacco and misuse of prescription medications, and students will gain an understanding why choosing to be free of a drug habit is truly important.

Schedule 5 of the same program on the same day and one will be free! Please include a purchase order number when you submit a reservation. Bridging fees will be paid by the customer. An invoice will be sent after successful delivery of each program. A 1.5% late charge will be added 30 days after the invoice date. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your confirmed videoconference date to avoid billing. Payment is due in full upon receipt of the invoice. Checks should be made to McMillen Health in US Dollars. Non-payment will result in the denial of further registration from your organization.

Program Details

Format

1. To begin the program, we will talk about the different dimensions of health.
2. Then we will talk role models and qualities of a good role model.
3. Next, we will talk about alcohol and tobacco and the effects on the body.
4. We will then talk about marijuana and prescription drugs and their effects on the body.
5.Lastly, we talk about how to get out of unhealthy situations.

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:

1. Understand that drugs, alcohol, and tobacco effect mental, emotional, and physical health.

2. Identify the difference between healthy and unhealthy actions and situations.

3. List characteristics of a healthy role model.

5. Identify responsible adults who they can talk to about drug or alcohol issues.
