Brownfields: Students Engage in Comprehensive Land-Use Planning

When the Indianapolis Division of Planning (DOP) needed to create a 10-year plan for Indianapolis/Marion County, they partnered with the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC) to enlist local students to assist in the process of land-use planning. Three schools participated with each tackling a different issue related to brownfields. Together they learned about history, government and the value of public participation.

The Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration, Inc. (CILC) was established in Indiana as a nonprofit corporation, and CILC has been previously recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax exempt organization described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. CILC's sole member is Vision Athena, Inc., a section 501(c)(4) tax exempt organization. CILC and Vision Athena may jointly provide services under the name CILC.
