REQUESTING PROGRAMS

  1. What is the difference between a Program Request and a Videoconference Request?
    1. A Videoconferencing Request is for connecting to another videoconferencing site, not a provider with programs posted on www.cilc.org.
    2. A Content Program Request is for requesting a connection for a Content Provider Program posted on www.cilc.org.
    3. A Professional Development Request is for requesting a connection to a Professional Development Provider Program posted in the Professional Development Marketplace posted on www.cilc.org.

  2. How do I request a program with a content provider that is not listed in on www.cilc.org?
    1. Use the form here. You'll need complete contact and connectivity information about the provider.

  3. How do I request Content Provider Programs from your site?
    1. Complete a Site Enhanced Service Plan which gives you a username/password, a PIN, and creates a profile for your site.
    2. Once you have created a site profile, click Request Programs or Register for Events Now and then Request a Videoconference with a Content Provider. Complete the form to submit the request to the Content Provider.

  4. How do I request Professional Development Programs for CILC's site?
    1. Complete a Site Enhanced Service Plan which gives you a username/password, a PIN, and creates a profile for your site.
    2. Once you have created a site profile, click Request Programs or Register for Events Now and then Request for a Professional Development Program. Complete the form to submit the request to the Professional Development Provider.

  5. What's my PIN?
    1. Your pin is the code you receive when you register for a Site Enhanced Service Plan. It is emailed to you. New PINs usually consist of one letter and four numbers (i.e. A1234).
    2. Your PIN can be found in your Site Profile. To view it, click Go to MY CILC.ORG, click the Site Profiles link on the right, and click the appropriate site.
    3. If you can't remember or retrieve your PIN, call website assistance at 1-866-302-2452.

  6. When I request a program, my site does not appear in the site to be scheduled drop down list. Why?
    1. You need to complete a Site Enhanced Service Plan.

  7. Is the ability to request programming on www.cilc.org still free?
    1. Yes, however, you need a Site Enhanced Service Plan to do so.

REGISTERING FOR EVENTS

  1. How do I register for a CILC Spotlight Session?
    1. Locate the one(s) you want here.
  2. What is a webinar?

  3. A webinar is a type of a web conference that is used to conduct live meetings or presentations over the internet. During a webinar, each participant sits at their own computer and is connected to other participants via the internet through an application which "hosts" the conference. The word "webinar" is a combination of the words "web" and ldquo;seminar".
  4. How do I receive a discount on a CILC Spotlight Session?
    1. All CILC Individual Premium Service Plan members receive a discount on all CILC Spotlight Sessions.

  2. What is the Individual Enhanced Service Plan?
    1. This plan creates an individual profile allowing you to customize your preferences, forward program requests, post collaborations, and more. Description is here.

  3. What is the Individual Premium Service Plan?
    1. This plan provides access to the communities of interest, virtual meeting room, archived Spotlight Sessions, discounts and more. Description is here.


Site Service Plans

  1. There are two different Site Service Plans.
    1. The Site Enhanced Service Plan
    2. The Site Premium Service Plan

  2. What is a Site Enhanced Premium Service Plan?
    1. This plan creates a site profile allowing your site to request programming and more.
    2. Description is here.
  3. Why do I need a Site Enhanced Service Plan/Site Profile?
  4. The profile:
    1. provides a PIN which is needed to request a program.
    2. places your site in the Videoconferencing Site Directory on www.cilc.org.
    3. purpose; provides billing information for content providers.
    4. defines who at your site can request programming thus enabling your site to keep track of costs related to Content Provider and Professional Development Programs.

  5. How do I get a Free Site Enhanced Service Plan?
    1. Go here.


  6. What is the Site Premium Service Plan?
  7. This plan:
    1. provides up to 30 staff members at your school/site to receive all Individual Premium benefits.
    2. allows this site to receive discounts on CILC Consulting Services.

UPDATING AND MANAGING PROFILES ON www.cilc.org

Site Profiles

  1. How do I edit/update my Site Profile?
    1. Log in
    2. Go to MY CILC.ORG
    3. Under Site Schedulers on the right, choose the Site Profiles link
    4. Click on edit to the left of your profile name

  2. How do I view all of my program requests?
    1. Log in.
    2. Go to MY CILC.ORG.
    3. Under Site Schedulers, choose View All Program Requests

  3. I’ve not yet heard back from the provider about my scheduling request
    1. Log in
    2. Go to MY CILC.ORG
    3. Under Site Schedulers, choose Program Requests
    4. If your request is not listed, complete a new scheduling request
    5. If your request is listed, contact the provider for further information


Individual Profiles

  1. How do I edit my individual profile?
    1. There are two avenues to edit your profile:
      1. Go to www.cilc.org
      2. Log in
      3. Click on Edit My Profile
      4. OR
      5. Once logged in, click on My CILC.org.
      6. From the menu bar to the right, choose Edit My Profile.

  2. What is the difference between a editing my profile and editing my preferences?
    1. Your member profile has contact information, your Premium Access Code, and communication options.
    2. Your preference profile allows you to narrow/define what you see on your MY CILC.ORG page by audience type and discipline.


LOGGING IN

  1. Do I need to log in to www.cilc.org?
    1. You can access much of the website without logging in.
    2. Logging in provides access to a host of other functions such as forwarding program flyers, posting needs for collaborations, creating a custom catalog, etc.
    3. Logging in is essential for Premium Service Plan members to allow access to all premium benefits/areas.

  2. How do I log in to cilc.org?
    1. Go to www.cilc.org
    2. In the upper right-hand corner, type in your username and password.

  3. How do I create a username and password?
    1. Go to www.cilc.org
    2. In the upper right hand corner, click on Join Today.
    3. Select the Individual Plan right for you.
    4. Choose Register Now to the right of your selection.
    Note: You can return at a later date to upgrade your individual plan or create a site plan for your organization.

  4. Do I have to log out of www.cilc.org?
    1. No. You can leave the site and come back and you will remain logged in.
    2. If you manually log out, then you will need to log in again upon returning to the site.

  5. I forgot my password. What do I do?
    1. Click the Forgot My Password link near the login area.

  1. How do I search for Content Provider programs on specific topics?
    1. Go to the search page.
    2. Choose Content Provider Programs from the Category dropdown menu.
    3. Type your topic in the keyword box.
    4. Hit search.

  2. How do I search for Professional Development programs on specific topics?
    1. Go to the search page.
    2. Choose Professional Development (PD) Center from the Category dropdown menu.
    3. Type your topic in the keyword box.
    4. Hit search.
  3. How do I find someone who is willing to share a class?
    1. Go to the search page.
    2. Choose Classes (Academic)
    3. Type your topic in the keyword box.
    4. Hit search.


Professional Development Marketplace

  1. How do I find professional development programs which improve learning and classroom/daily practice?
    1. Use the Search Bar on the homepage..
    2. Choose Professional Development Marketplace.
    3. Type your topic in the keyword box.
    4. Hit search.

  2. Go to the Education Content tab on the homepage.
    1. Click on the Professional Development Marketplace link.

Collaboration Center

  1. How do I find partners for teacher and classroom collaborations?

    2. Select type of events you want to see and deselect those you do not.

  2. Professional Development Provider Directory: learn about each of the providers who post on this site.
    1. Use the Search Bar on the homepage.

    3. Type your favorite PD provider in the keyword box or search them all.
    4. Hit search.

  3. Videoconferencing Site Directory: search for others who have videoconferencing. Every site profile automatically creates a listing in this directory.
    1. Use the Search Bar on the homepage.

    3. Type in a state, country or school in the keyword box or search them all.
    4. Hit search.


All Categories

Why would I use this option?
Using a keyword, this search will produce results related from all the search databases. For example: using Math as a keyword results in listings for Content Provider Programs, Classes, Collaborations, Professional Development Programs, articles in the E-News, student projects and more.

Spotlight Sessions

  1. What are Spotlight Sessions?
    1. Spotlight Sessions are professional development programs offered via webinar (online) where participants interact with knowledgeable presenters in the fields of collaborative learning, educational trends, distance learning, and technology.
    2. They offer follow-up conversation/learning using a discussion forum.
    3. Participants can view the archived session for at least one month following the event.
