Action Item:
Recommendation to the equipment manufacturers to work towards non-proprietary products to solve interoperability issues.
Strategies:
- Continue to communicate needs to manufacturers
- ”Like a telephone- it doesn’t matter what the device is on the other end. It just needs to work!”
In Getting Started
Facilitator: Janine Lim
Action Item:
There is a need for content in the following areas: computer classes, math, high school business, content in-depth enough for high school, and content for PreK - grade 2.
Strategies:
- Share this need with the Content Providers

In International Connections
Facilitator: Carol Woolbright
Action Item:
Establish an international database of willing parties
Strategies:
- Two volunteers are working on creating this for us!
Additional Outcomes:
- Plan the learning experiences to establish goals/purpose/outcomes of the videoconference
- Establish protocols for connections as well as the technology
- Never make assumptions when connecting internationally
Creating a Sense of Community
Facilitator: Monica Cougan
Action Item:
Build a strategies approach that is shared among state leadership advocates (administrators and educators) sharing
- steps to create an active community in videoconferencing usage
- a repository of tips and techniques to more them to buy in and implementation
Strategies:
- This group is going to begin online discussion and planning to create these repositories and share ideas
- Groups will most likely share globally, but also focus on their areas of leadership, administration, state/district and classroom
Additional Outcomes:
- Need to create a sense of ownership and community among state administrators and teachers
- Keeping teachers informed and getting them to take hold
- Sharing strategies to move folks through adoption model
