The following collaboration resulted from a post on the CILC Collaboration Center.
Title: Cyberbullying Collaboration
Description: High Students met twice via ITV.
First Meeting
- High School Students watched a Power Point presentation which contained video clips. They discussed their reactions to the clips and asked questions.
- High School Students were given the task to create a short cyberbullying public service announcement to present to middle schools via ITV.
The students presented their public service announcements (PSA) to middle school students via ITV.
Involvement
- This collaboration involved seven (7) teachers, six (6) classrooms, and one hundred twenty (120) students.
- The following sites/schools were included:

- Science Park High School, Newark, NJ
- R. T. Cream Family School, Camden, NJ
- Quibbletown Middle School, Piscataway, NJ
- Union Hill Middle School, Union City, New Jersey

Impact for Student Learning
“The students developed an understanding cyberbullying, what to do if they were a victim and how to present this information to a remote audience.” They also learned
- The impact cyberbullying has on the victim and the bully
- Witness responsibilities
- How to prevent bullying
- How to creating video presentations
Impact for Teacher Learning
“The teachers developed the ability to use video-conferencing. Since their students were responsible for the creation of a video presentation, they needed to hone their technology skills in order facilitate the creation of student projects.”

“I enjoyed watching the projects the students presented. I was impressed by the quality of work produced by middle and high school students and by the level of questions asked.”
