C. The KC3 ~ Kids Creating Community Content Contest is seeking audience sites
for final student presentations in January and February 2009. Below are the program descriptions with dates and times they will be offered.
We will be scheduling one class for each session and are looking for audience sites who are willing to be active listeners and engage the student presenters in the Q&A session at the conclusion. Your school must have working videoconferencing equipment and complete an equipment test before scheduling.

This is a project describing the steps that the GT class has taken to "Green" our school. This project extends into the community so they can be aware and help "Green" not only our school but also our town. The students demonstrate easy steps that can be used globally and can help protect our Earth. Program Summary: "We're going Green" is created so that other students across the world are informed on how they can help "Green" their schools. From tracking the teacher's use of electricity, recycling in the cafeteria, and picking up trash around campus there are many ways you can help your school become Earth friendly.

Follow us on our journey through the Falls of the Ohio to explore how over the many, many years things have changed so dramatically. In this videoconference we'll cover the problems with Hawaii's oceans and how we can take care of the problems such as over fishing, pollution, harming the coral
reefs and how important the ocean is to Hawaii. If we don't act now, our oceans will slowly start to erode our beaches.

We will be sharing about where oil and gas are found in Alberta, the difficulties of jobs in the oil field, how we use oil as well as the origin of oil and gas.

We will cover the following topics in the livestock economy of our area: breeds and colors, calving, selling, transporting, medication, maintenance, cost, habitat, and after-market. Livestock is important in our area and that is what we're covering.

We will talk about agriculture in our area of Alberta. We will teach about the types of crops, economy, equipment used, what the crops are used for and much more.

The history of the Ft Worth Stockyards as cattle were driven down the Chisholm Trail will be the focus of this program. Over four million cattle were trailed through this area known as "Cowtown" between 1866 and 1890. There will be actual footage of a live cattledrive that still takes place daily at the historic Stockyards.

Stamford, Texas is home of The Texas Cowboy Reunion (TCR) Rodeo, the largest amateur rodeo in the world. Every July, Stamford's population will almost double as people from all over the country come to watch cowboys compete in rodeo events that demonstate necessary skills of past and present working cowboys. What influence has the cowboy had on history, music, art, and poetry. Share the determination, spirit, and hard work that settled the West.

A look into cattle drives & railroads of the past with herding cattle and loading them in trailers and trucks. Rodeo started as a job skill and evolved into entertainment and sporting event. Certain rodeo events began from life on the ranch such as steer roping, team roping, and bronc riding. Others were added such as bullriding and bullfighting. Mr. Rob Smets, 5 time world champion bullfighter will be on hand to do an interview and also for question and answer session. Program Summary: Our program will focus on the Now and Then aspect of cattle drives and how they evolved into the rodeo. The presenters will discuss the origin of the word rodeo and how it means to "round up" cattle.

Learn about the difference in breaking a horse and training a horse using the wholistic method while maintaining their character and leaving their spirit in tact yet being responsive to your leadership. Students will explain the various horse whipspering methods or gentle methods of breaking horses vs. using the harsh methods. It has to do with leadership, gaining respect,trust, and even praise.

This is a program about life on a ranch, parts of a ranch, and all aspects of ranch life such as the different types of cattle or animals that you would find. The program is also about rodeos, the kind of events in a rodeo, the people that are in rodeos, the animals that are involved in the rodeo, and how rodeos stemmed from the ranch. Come ride high in the saddle with the Breckenridge T.A.G. Team with their virtual field trip about "Ranch and Rodeo." Come find out what it takes to be a "real" cowboy. Come saddle up your ponies and get ready for the ride of your life learning about "Ranch and Rodeo."
