Program Description   System Science: Intro to Networks will introduce students to networks and systems of all kinds such as social, biological, and communication networks. We will also explore the fundamental structure of a network as well as benefits and uses for several networks. Students will also learn the difference between simple and complex networks. All topics introduced are paired with interactive exhibits that will be shown live on our museum floor.
Program Format   Virtual Visit #1
1.Introductions and pre-visit activity discussion.

2.Students will first be introduced to the structure and key components of a network which are links and nodes.

3.Furthering their knowledge on the structure of network, students will be introduced to hubs while discussing the railroad being a network.

4.Students will then be introduced to several examples of networks and discussing how these networks are used and benefit society.

5.The last topic that will be discussed deals with learning the difference between simple and complex networks. Students will also see a colony of leaf cutter ants and make the connection between the colony and complex networks.

6. Conclusions, questions, and farewells.
