| Program Description | Remember as a child seeing your very first magic trick and being in complete awe of what happened. Wondering to yourself how in the world did he/she do that? Now with the help of The Great Osmosis and his magical laboratory, that wonder becomes knowledge. Be apart of an interactive scientific magic show and learn what exactly does magic and science have to do with each other. | |
| Program Format |
1. Introductions and student presentation on one pre-activity. 2. Rising Balloon trick is performed. Students will be introduced to the scientific concept of density during the explanation of the magic trick. 3. The second trick is called Pepper Hypnosis. Students will understand how The Great Osmosis was able to hypnotize pepper in doing whatever he wants. The scientific concept that is discussed here deals with surface tension. 4. For the the third trick, students will be introduced to air pressure. See how a regular index card can prevent water from falling out of a cup. 5. The grand finale trick called Unburning Flame, will discuss the solution created by using alcohol and water. See how this solution will prevent a rag from burning into black crisp. 6. Students will be become honorary magician scientists. 7. Conclusion with a Q&A session and final farewells. |
