[STUDIO]  Dive into the fascinating world of shark research with a simulated shark training session! Immerse yourself in our 135,000-gallon shark habitat, home to a diverse collection of sharks and bony fishes from the Gulf of Mexico. Learn about Mote's shark husbandry and training techniques and discover the cutting-edge technology we use to study and conserve these magnificent creatures. This virtual tour is led by Mote's knowledgeable and passionate guides who are excited to share their love of the ocean with you. They'll be available to answer any questions you may have and provide insight into the amazing animals you'll see on the tour. Get up close and personal with our sharks, expand your knowledge and understanding, and become an expert yourself.

As a world-class, AZA-accredited nonprofit marine research institution, we bring the excitement of authentic research and hands-on learning to you. Objectives

Students will participate in a virtual shark training session with our ocean expert; identify reasons why we train sharks and other animals in human care discover husbandry and training techniques biologist use to manage animals in human care; learn about the technology we use to study sharks in the wild; engage in a discussion with our ocean expert about sharks or other ocean animals; develop an appreciation for sharks and their important ecological roles.
