Can your students decipher secret messages to reveal important intel? Program Details

Format

1. Students will get into teams and look at different evidence collected at the mole's apartment and try to crack codes using various tools.

2. With the code name of the mole revealed after examining the codes, students will learn about frequency analysis in order to decipher a message found in the mole's apartment.

Objectives

Students will be able to:
1) demonstrate how to use frequency analysis to crack an enciphered message.
2) describe probability analysis and demonstrate how to use it.
3) identify and use three different cipher/code tools.
