| Program Description | Learn how to use free software (Audacity) to create and publish audio podcasts on your classroom website. These podcasts can include recorded teacher-lectures, student projects, student-created news programs, or almost anything else. Synchronizing audio podcast recordings to PowerPoint slides will also be demonstrated using the free website SlideShare. No previous experience with podcasting or audio recording is required for this session! | |
| Program Format | This videoconference session is a guided exploration and demonstration of both podcasting possibilities as well as "nuts and bolts" steps for getting started. If participating teachers have laptops, the wiki curriculum can be used as a portal for the content and techniques addressed in the workshop. | |
| Objectives |
The participant will: - explore and understand different uses for podcasting in the classroom - learn about Audacity software (free) and how it can be used for audio recording / podcasting - learn about other types of audio equipment helpful for podcasting - learn how other classroom teachers have and are using podcasting - learn where to access tutorials and additional resources helpful for classroom podcasting |
