Science Central is a non-profit focused on STEM based learning. We provide hands-on programming in an exciting mix of demonstrations and labs beamed directly to your location!

We opened on November 5, 1995 and are located in a renovated Light and Power Plant. We are the only regional science and technology center in Northeast Indiana. We are also the only NASA Educator Resource Center in Indiana.

We are open throughout the whole year and are able to provide programming during the school year as well as during the summer.

Program Details

Format

1. The program starts by introducing the Dogfish shark
2. Audience members share their own facts about the animal
3. With a powerpoint presentation, the presenter discusses body systems, animal classification, adaptation, reproduction, and similarities to human bodies
4. Dissection

Objectives

-Name the parts of an animal
-Outline the relationships between the ecosystem and different animal interactions
-Explore internal anatomy
-Discuss body systems and compare them to human bodies
-Describe some of the processes of science.
-Recognize some safety equipment used for dissections
