Program Details

Format

1. Introduction to presenter(s)
2. Review BINGO card/game instructions
3. Start game - review 16 culturally or historically significant items that represent a variety of museum types (art, natural history, historic site, zoo, etc...) and view on world map where each object/museum is located.
4. End game - discuss significance of museum work
5. Short Q&A w/presenter(s)

Objectives

Participants will:
-Discover significant cultural artifacts, sites and works of art from around the world.
-Be introduced to and develop an understanding of the importance of world heritage sites and the work of museums.
-Be able to identify the seven continents of the world.

Michigan - Social Studies Standards:
2 – H2.0.4 Explain how individuals and groups have made significant historical changes.
6 – G4.1.3 Describe cultures of the region being studied, including the major languages and religions.
7 – W3.1.5 Describe major achievements from Indian, Chinese, Mediterranean, African, Southwest and Central Asian, Mesoamerican, and Andean civilizations.
