Ocean Wise is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower communities and individuals to take action to protect and restore the world's oceans.


Live workshops guided by Ocean Wise experts, focus on inquiry-based learning with an environmental and climate change focus. Not your average digital workshops, students will play mini-games, lead their own discussions, and enjoy some surprises along the way. Using scientific findings and data collected by Ocean Wise’s world-renowned research team, they will get an inside view of the latest climate and ocean science and come away feeling empowered to make positive change.

Program Details

Format

1. Open with Ocean Trivia
2. Leads into exploring different ocean zones
3. Discuss what a story is and the significance of storytelling around the world in different communities
4. Sharing portion to share different Ocean stories and Lore
5. Dive into 3 different myths and discuss real life organisms that embody those mythical creatures
6. Discuss overfishing, bycatch and their impacts on the ocean and how storytelling can be a useful tool in helping the Ocean
7. Open up for Q&A before session ends
