Explore the diversity of adaptations with live animal guests!  Your students will meet Ambassador Animals as they discover the importance of adaptations for survival. The Lee Richardson Zoo's Distance Learning Studio offers a multitude of environmental programs to students all over the nation. Our programs include 2-4 live animals. However, we are currently unable to give programs from actual exhibits around the zoo.

REFUND POLICIES: Once registration is confirmed, the Lee Richardson Zoo adheres to a no-refund, no-credit policy. If a program is canceled at any time for any reason other than those listed above, no refund or credit will be given. Substitution of another group of participants of the same age is permitted with prior notification

Program Details

Format

1. This program begins by introducing the term adaptation and discovering some examples of this.
2. Students will explore an example of adaptations in humans; thumbs.
3. We’ll meet two to three animal guests and discover more about their adaptations.
4. Wrap-up.

Objectives

• Students will be able to provide an example of an adaptation that they have and it’s importance.
• Students will be able to explain how adaptations for survival were passed on to future generations, aka inherited from parents.
• Students will be able to provide examples of adaptations and their benefits for multiple animal species.
