Format
1. This program begins with a brief discussion of the history of Inner Asia, including mention of the Silk Road.
2. Then, we will discuss some of the cultural influences, including Islam and the USSR, that have affected the region's culture and music.
3. Next, we will showcase specific instruments and musical styles from countries in Inner Asia, including sound clips of their musical styles.
4. Finally, we will have time for question-and-answer, though participants are encouraged to ask questions throughout the program.
