Standards Alignment
National Standards
All classes are aligned to the Common Core Standards.
National Framework Guidelines for Science Standards.
- By 5th grade…
• LS1A Structure and Function - Plants and animals have both internal and external structures that serve various functions in growth, survival, behavior, and reproduction. (Boundary: Stress at this grade level is on understanding the macroscale systems and their function, not microscopic processes.)
State Standards
NHES 1,2,7; Science 1,3; Literacy 1–5
New Colorado Standards
- SC09-GR.5-S.2-GLE.1 - All organisms have structures and systems with separate functions
- SC09-GR.5-S.2-GLE.2 - Human body systems have basic structures, functions, and needs
