Format
1. Start with showing brain rubber model and plastinated human brain
2. Have participants identify parts of brain along with educator and hear a description of how the nervous system works.
3. Participate in a word - memory experiment
4. Adults will hear about what they can do to maintain their brain function through daily lifestyle choices.
5. Adults will be encouraged to stretch their brains as well as their bodies through some ‘in the seat’ activities.
6. Answering questions to discover how their brains function best is a fun activity helping adults learn how their brain learns.
7.Adults will be encouraged to try new skills and apply what they learned in their everyday lives.
Objectives
1. State two benefits of doing brain exercises.
2. Identify the major organ of the nervous system as the brain.
3. List two reasons why staying physically healthy is also good for the brain.
4. Explain at least three basic keys to staying healthy.
5. State at least two dominant functional characteristics of each half of the brain.
6. Demonstrate at least two ways to enhance the ability to learn.
