Program Details

Format

This is a historical interpretation of a how some of the first visitors to Glacier Bay may have experienced the Bay. Miss Elizabeth will be attired in period clothing and present an overview of Glacier Bay and early twentieth century travel in Alaska. She will share contemporary and historic images and artifacts from Glacier Bay. Miss Elizabeth will be available to answer questions when the program is over. Miss Elizabeth has presented this program to hundreds of visitors to Glacier Bay and looks forward to sharing it with a virtual audience.

Objectives

The participant will:
-compare contemporary and historic modes of travel.
-understand why many people find Glacier Bay to be a special place.
-be able to describe how glaciers form.
-delve into the history of Glacier Bay.
