Program Details

Format

1. This program begins with a short video familiarizing the audience with the location and mission of the Alaska Zoo.
2. Introduction to staff member and encounter animal(s).
3. Discussion- What is a polar bear?
4. Discoveries with biofacts- Arctic survival experts!
5. Discoveries with photos/video/actions- what do polar bears eat?
6. Awesome Adaptations via photos/videos.
7. Time allowed for questions and answers.

Objectives

Through this program participants should be able to:
*List some polar bear characteristics.
*Describe what makes a polar bear a marine mammal.
*Identify where they live and what they eat.
*Discuss various Arctic adaptations of polar bears.
