During this virtual field trip (VFT), we’ll take you to the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. The Elephant Nature Park is an elephant sanctuary for inquired and mistreated elephants. You’ll be introduced to the Asian Elephant, its threats, and the tourism industry that thrives off of this magnificent animal. Is tourism good or bad for the Elephants? You decide!

Format

VFT Format:
1) Show Introduction
2) The presenter will facilitate the first discussion topic or experience.
3) The presenter will open and facilitate a round of Q&A.
4) Repeat 2&3 until all topics have been exhausted or time expires.
5) In-show quiz (i.e., GEOquiz) using Quizizz
5) Wrap-up

VFT Topics:
1.) Elephant Nature Park visit
2.) Elephant tourism
3.) Elephant adaptations

Objectives

-Students will be introduced to the Asian Elephant.
-Students will virtually visit the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand.
-Students will learn about threats to the elephants in Thailand.
-Students will discuss the positive and negative effects of Elephant tourism at home and abroad
