Format
1. Author Valerie Marsh shares the story of Issac Newton and his Law of Gravity, and introduces the sign language we use with the science.
2. Miss Liz the Science Wiz introduces the concept of gravity, matter, mass, distance, orbit, and center of gravity.
3. Students make predictions and then test them by using their paper apple.
4. We question, predict, test, observe, conclude as we conduct our experiments.
5. We challenge your students to observe these physics concepts at home, on the playground, in the classroom, everywhere!
Objectives
Students will:
-be able to show someone else the signs that we used
-engage in the scientific method
-learn about gravity. matter, mass, distance, orbit, and center of gravity
-work cooperatively with a partner during the experiments
-be active participants while conducting an experiment
-make a connection with Newton's feelings about school.
-develop an appreciation for physical science
-be able to demonstrate these concepts with an object of their choice
