Taking on all the roles of this Halloween tale, Turner has adapted the piece to keep all ages entertained. It is story theater at its best! Gr 5 & up.

TAC was founded by J.T. Turner (SAG-AFTRA, AEA), an award-winning professional writer, actor, director, and educator, and is managed by Marci Diamond (MPA, SAG-AFTRA, AEA), also a professional teaching artist/performer. Additional programming is provided by Marisa Diamond (BFA, SAG-AFTRA, AEA).

Format

1. Washington Irving welcomes participants to the Old Dutch Church in Tarrytown, NY.
2. Washington Irving performs his most famous work, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
3. Question and answer time with Washington Irving.

Objectives

The participants will:
1. Engage with and understand the structure of a classical American ghost story.
2. Develop an appreciation for early American literature through the work of the first "international best-selling American author" and "Father of American literature."
