Format
1. Brief discussion of puberty and the normality of the changes
2. A segment about hygiene and hygiene products is included
3. This program covers hygiene related topics including: showering, handwashing, dental hygiene, skin care, and nail care.
4. Participation in this program promotes a positive self-image and reinforces that the changes of puberty are normal, as well as prepares students to care for their changing bodies as they transition into adolescence.
Objectives
1. Define the following words: adolescence, hygiene.
2. State the normal range of ages for the onset of puberty.
3. Describe the physical and emotional changes that occur during puberty.
4. Describe the role of the pituitary gland during puberty.
5. Recognize proper everyday hygiene habits for body and hair.
6. Identify at least two items used in control of body odor.
7. List at least one way germs can be spread.
8. Demonstrate proper hand washing technique.
9. State the importance of proper flossing techniques, brushing techniques, and dental visits.
