Zion National Park is a place with massive sandstone
cliffs, narrow slot canyons, unique wildlife and plants, and a rich history.
Students learn about Zion National Park, the National Park Service, and the
unique ecosystems and history of the southwest as they interact in live time
with a uniformed ranger. Our free programs cover a variety of topics that bring
curriculum to life. 

Registration is not currently open. Check back in January 2023 for information regarding January-April 2023 learning opportunities.

Program Details

Format

-This program begins with an introduction of the ranger, and short description of the National Park Service and things protect within national park sites.
-Participants then view photographs of Zion, and learn about the interaction between elevation and habitats
-We learn the story of Zion's endangered animals through props and images, and investigate the other animals that call this park home
-Students learn about park management, and how visitation has affected this area. They get a view from our tallest trails and deepest canyons, and get a chance to experience the thrill of our hikes from their classroom.
-Time is allowed for questions and answers

Objectives

This program is a fun and engaging way for adult learners to learn about Zion National Park, and have their questions answered. They get a behind the scene look at what goes into maintaining a park like this, stories of search and rescues, background on the animals in the park, and much more.
