Virtual Classroom: Sharks

Long bodies, sharp teeth, and a top predator-you guessed it, sharks! Join us to discover how sharks move, what their teeth are like, and the parts that make up their bodies. Your students will practice important STEM process skills by observing and describing real live sharks, collecting data and communicating what they learned from sharks in Texas State Aquarium habitats.

This is a 30-minute program, best suited for learners in PreK – 2nd grade.

1. Live view of sharks (Caribbean Sea and/or Islands of Steel) with interactive discussion of student observations

4. Shark Movement
5. Shark Teeth
6. All aspects of program are driven my student questions and responses.

The student is expected to observe, record, and compare how the physical characteristics and behaviors of animals help them meet their basic needs such as fins help fish move and balance in the water.
