Let's help your students See through the Haze. Our program shares the dangers of nicotine products like cigarettes and vapes. Join us as we talk about the harmful effects these products have on their health. Students will discover the unhealthy ingredients found in smoke and vapor. We will also teach your students how to identify the tobacco companies' sneaky tricks to get kids, like them, to use their products. Your students will learn ways to say "no" to someone offering them these products. Get ready to See through the Haze as your students take control of their health!

Schedule 5 of the same program on the same day and one will be free! For the UK, the fee is 98 British Pounds. Please include a purchase order number when you submit a reservation. Bridging fees will be paid by the customer. An invoice will be sent after successful delivery of each program. A 1.5% late charge will be added 30 days after the invoice date. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your confirmed videoconference date to avoid billing. Payment is due in full upon receipt of the invoice. Checks should be made to McMillen Health in US Dollars. Non-payment will result in the denial of further registration from your organization.

Program Details

Format

1. This program begins with an overview of tobacco and nicotine products.
2. We then do an activity learning about the chemicals in electronic cigarette aerosol.
3. We discuss the effects on the body systems.
4. Participants discover how the tobacco industry markets to youth.
5. Students identify strategies to reduce stress that don't include the use of tobacco products.
6. Time is allowed for questions and answers.

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:
1. Identify at least 3 harmful chemicals found in cigarette smoke and/or vaping aerosol.
2. State that harmful chemicals can also be found in second and thirdhand smoke and vaping aerosols.
3. List three effects of tobacco/nicotine products on body systems.
4. State that chemical flavors in e-cigarettes are FDA approved for food/beverage consumption, not for respiration into the lungs.
5. State how difficult nicotine addiction is to overcome.
6. Identify influences (including the role of the tobacco industry) that encourage adolescents to begin using tobacco/nicotine products.
7. Identify ways in which a person could refuse or replace tobacco/nicotine products.
