Students will observe shark biofacts and explore how a shark’s skeleton, jaws, teeth, skin, and camouflage make them top predators. We will look at common shark species in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean, as well as view our resident sharks live from the Texas State Aquarium. Why shark conservation is important will also be discussed, along with what scientists and aquariums are doing to conserve these mysterious animals.

Program Details

Format

1. This program begins by discussing shark adaptations.
2. Our cameras will access live shark habitats throughout the program.
3. We then observe different shark biofacts live from our studio.
4. Participants play a shark identification game with the presenter.
5. Shark conservation is discussed.
6. Time is allowed for questions and answers.
