STEMExplore Virtual Career Connection with a Conservation Manager

Join EarthEcho International as we highlight relatable voices in STEM careers! With STEMExplore, we invite female professionals to share their STEM journey with a live audience during dynamic 45-minute virtual events.

The conversation will focus on women in STEM and the STEMExplore Mentor will share her personal journey and the positive influences that helped her to realize her professional capabilities.

During this 45-minute session, the participants will: 

- Learn about conservation and sustainability as a career in general;
- Observe the day to day tasks of a conservation manager, working with stormwater management and sustainability initiatives;
- Gain insight into a STEM career and learn the steps it takes to become a professional in this area;
- Ask interview questions of the STEMExplore expert.

STEMExplore Mentor: Tyrah Cobb-Davis, Chesapeake Conservation Corps Member at Frederick County Office of Sustainability and Environmental Resources

Tyrah is currently in the Chesapeake Bay Trust's Chesapeake Conservation Corps Program. She works specifically with Frederick County Office of Sustainability and Environmental Resources (OSER). At OSER, Tyrah assists with stormwater management practices through data collection and implementation, in addition to promoting sustainability initiatives. Tyrah is a recent graduate from Randolph College where she studied Environmental Science and had minors in engineering and math. Tyrah had many internships and research opportunities during her undergraduate career that helped shape her professional path, ultimately leading her to the Chesapeake Conservation Corps program.
