Program Details

Format

1. program begins with introduction to plants and review of plant parts
2. students learn about each part of a flower while creating their own drawing of a flower
3. we then learn about the process of pollination
4. next we explore the diversity of pollinators and match them to their flowers
5. finally we discover some unusual flower and pollinator pairings
6. time allowed for questions and answers

Objectives

• Students will learn the basics of the scientific process including observation, questioning and experimentation.
• Students will draw a flower to learn the parts of a flower, their functions and the process of pollination.
• Students will record their findings of flower parts.
• Students will learn about the pollination process
• Students will understand flowers produce seeds and fruit that people and animals use as food sources for survival.
