This programme from England sets out to show the power of beauty contained in these outstanding poems. We will listen and as a class explore how the words show the horror of war. Looking at how many of these young men were only aged 14 years and thought of war as a glory. We will also examine how poets like William Blake tried to show the victorian times of degradation.

Program Details

Format

Together we will share the poems which I will send before. The class will take it turns to say a part of each poem. We will then study the meanings and explore the themes as they mean to each of us and how the writer was trying to influence the world stage.
Lastly we will have a discussion about the poems and the ideas that we have about war and what this has meant to past generations.
