How many animals do you think we will find living in the tide-pools? Learners become explorers in this fun and interactive program touring a tide-pool habitat. Practice numbers and counting as we discover the many critters that live along the rocky shore. From sticky sea anemones to bumpy sea stars, we will observe colors, shapes and textures to learn more about each of the animals we find.

Program Availability from June 21 - July 30 is Mondays and Fridays 8-9am and 10-12:30pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 8-12:30pm, and Wednesdays 8-9am and 11-12:30pm. Starting August 2nd through August 13 programs will only be available from 2-4pm weekdays, except on Tuesdays .from 3-4pm. Contact us if you are looking at other days and times. Thank you!

Program Details

Format

Learners will join an aquarium educator to explore a tide-pool habitat, counting the different animals they discover.
1. Share observation of a tidepool habitat.
2. Pick an animal to explore.
3. Count the number of specific animal.
4. Learn more about that specific animal.
5. Move on to next number/animal.

Objectives

Learners will:
- practice counting to describe the number of animals they find in a tidepool habitat
- compare and contrast tidepool animals using shapes and colors
- ask questions and make predictions based on animal observations
