Program Details

Format

This program is very flexible, and each session is a bit different since students are making choices about their learning.
1. We will introduce the museum.
2. We'll explore 3-8 works of art from many different cultures, time periods, and areas of the museum.
3. Students will utilize a variety of strategies (discussion, writing, drawing, movement, etc.) to engage with artworks.

Within a lesson, teachers may expect to see their students make choices such as:
- Selecting between several works of art to explore
- Making choices about strategies to engage with an artwork (i.e. writing, drawing, talking, movement, etc.)

Objectives

-Differentiate between verbal, visual & other forms of communication
-Extract and evaluate information about a culture, time period or cultural values from a work of art
-Communicate ideas or opinions about works of art
