Program Availability from June 21 - July 30 is Mondays and Fridays 8-9am and 10-12:30pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 8-12:30pm, and Wednesdays 8-9am and 11-12:30pm. Starting August 2nd through August 13 programs will only be available from 2-4pm weekdays, except on Tuesdays .from 3-4pm. Contact us if you are looking at other days and times. Thank you!

Provider's Cancellation Policy

There is no charge to cancel or reschedule your video-conference more than 48 hours prior to your confirmed date and time. If you cancel your program within 48 hours of the confirmed date of the video-conference session, you will be charged for the full price of the program. Inclement weather, technological problems on our end, and any other uncontrollable factors will be taken into account.

Program Details

Format

Learners will explore the ways that we are connected to the ocean through an in-depth look at what the ocean provides us and how we impact the health of the ocean. This class will including the following:
1. Brainstorm how we are connected to the ocean.
2. Exploration of how ocean provides us with oxygen
3. Exploration of how the ocean provides us with food
4. Analyze data sets to understand how the ocean affects weather
5. Look at watersheds and how humans can impact them
6. Share ideas for protecting the health of the ocean
7. Question and answer session.

Objectives

Learners will:
- analyze and interpret data to understand the role of the ocean as a part of the climate system
- be able to explain how the ocean and humans are interconnected
- identify actions on land that negatively impact our oceans and discuss possible solutions
