As awe-inspiring as Dale Chihuly’s glass artwork is, his story of success is just as impressive. A terrible debilitating accident at the height of his career, the death of his father and brother and bipolar disorder are just some of the challenges he faced. For fourteen years, Jan Greenberg wanted to share his story with young readers in a nonfiction book. We talk with the co-author of 14 award-winning children’s books about why her book “World of Glass: The Art of Dale Chihuly” took so long to publish, how she writes as a team with Sandra Jordan and why so many famous artists have said yes to being featured in books by the writing team. We also share several of the beautiful photos displayed in Greenberg’s book.

Presented in partnership by the St. Louis County Library and HEC Media, this 23- minute interview of Jan Greenburg, author of World of Glass: The Art of Dale Chihuly, introduces and illuminates the striking and colorful sculptures created from glass.
