Learners will discover the adaptations of sharks and rays and how we care for the animals that call this habitat home. During this program, you’ll discover the skills we use every day to care for our animals and learn how you can help conserve these habitats.

This program must be booked two weeks in advance, and is also available by request! Due to our shark feeding schedule, we prefer to offer this program a the following times: M/W/F between 10-11:30 am CST, and T/TH between 8:30- 9:45 am CST.

Program Details

Format

1. Studio presenter will introduce program and Caribbean Sea habitat.
2. SCUBA diver will use underwater camera to introduce shark and ray species in Caribbean Sea.
3. Participants will discover feeding adaptations of sharks and rays, their place in the food web, and how we feed these animals at an Aquarium.
4. Question and Answer session with SCUBA diver.
5. Conservation message and conclusion with studio presenter.

Objectives

1. Participants can name two ways sharks and rays are the same and two ways they are different.
2. Participants can describe two feeding adaptations of sharks and rays.
3. Participants can name one way they can help protect sharks and rays in the ocean.
