This program is the second in a series.
The series is an introduction or review of basic social and emotional learning principles taught through the lens of music. This lesson is a deep dive into the emotional blueprint of the musical choices from the first lesson.
Students use a new framework to identify nuanced, complex emotions. Using this new guide, students identify the emotions behind songs chosen by themselves and by teachers. Focusing on lyrics and musical elements, students discuss how songs portray emotions and choose another song for their current moment.
