Format
1. Start with "simon says" type activity to learn where penguins and puffins live.
2. Powerpoint presentation for students to make observations about similarities and differences of penguins and puffins.
3. Discussion about how birds fly.
4. Students try to flap their wings as fast as a puffin.
Objectives
At the end of a program participants should be able to:
-Make a prediction, test it and explain the results
-Explain how penguins and puffins and other birds get water, food and shelter at the Zoo and in the wild.
-Name various body parts of birds (wing, beak, feet) and explain how birds such as penguins and puffins use them to survive in their habitat.
-Compare how animals adjust to the seasons and temperatures at the Zoo vs. in their native habitat.
