Scientists tell us we’re in a global climate emergency. Emergencies call for action. But what can we do? Opportunities for climate action are endless, the important thing is to begin. We’ll explore some climate change basics in the climate gallery then look at some directions for action. (Warning: contributing to solutions may lead to hope.)

Program Details

Format

Depending on participant needs, the format may change. However, the format usually falls under this structure:
1. The program begins with introductions to the Royal BC Museum, presenters, and an overview of the program.
2. Briefly see how climate has changed over time
3. Explore the carbon cycle and the ways humans are affecting the environment
4. Generate ideas on actions we can do to keep our forests and oceans healthy.

Learners/Participants will:
• Be able to explain how humans are impacting climate
• Be inspired to take at least one sustainable action in their daily life
