Join us at a sea turtle rescue center in south Texas to learn about land, freshwater, and sea turtle anatomy and adaptations.  Explore the differences and similarities between these species and how they have adapted to their habitats.  Program includes a live visit with our resident three-toed box turtle, Mario.


This program is geared towards K-5th grade students, but can be adapted for any age!

Program Details

Format

Program begins with an interactive presentation covering:
1. What makes a reptile a reptile?
2. Specific Characteristics of Sea Turtles, Land Turtles, and Freshwater Turtles
3. Sea Turtle Anatomy
4. Specific Adaptations of Sea Turtles
5. What can you do to help sea turtles?

This program concludes with a live encounter with one of our Three-toed Box Turtles and a question and answer session.
