Format
1. Students participate in a “What Organ Am I?” activity.
2. Participants review the 5 healthy food groups found on the MyPlate.
3. Students travel through the digestive system on the “Cracker Jack Express”.
5. Students participate in the “Freeze Dance”.
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:
1. Label the major organs of the body.
2. Match the functions to each major organ.
3. List the digestive organs in the order that digestion occurs.
4. Describe the process of digestion.
5. Define the words: nutrient, digestion, and peristalsis.
6. Label My Plate with the correct food group.
7. Give two examples of foods that belong to each food group.
8. State one reason why carbohydrates are good for the body.
9. List the four Keys to Staying Healthy.
10. State that daily exercise is essential.
