Elementary Youth with Special Needs: Be a Germ Genius

Students will learn what germs are and what
they can do to stop the spread of germs. Students will get to see firsthand how
germs are spread and will be able to practice proper handwashing techniques. A
brief introduction to the COVID-19 virus will be included as well as ways in
which people can minimize the spread of the virus.

Schedule 5 of the same program on the same day and one will be free! Please include a purchase order number when you submit a reservation. Bridging fees will be paid by the customer. An invoice will be sent after successful delivery of each program. A 1.5% late charge will be added 30 days after the invoice date. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your confirmed videoconference date to avoid billing. Payment is due in full upon receipt of the invoice. Checks should be made to McMillen Health in US Dollars. Non-payment will result in the denial of further registration from your organization.

Program Details

Format

1. This program begins with defining germs and how they spread.
2. We then do a glitter germ activity to show how they spread and how proper hand washing gets rid of germs.
3. We discuss proper hand washing.
4. Participants will watch an animated video of when to wash their hands
5. Lastly, we talk about COVID-19 and germs, and what to do if we feel sick.

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:

1. Define germs as something very small that may make you sick.

2. Demonstrate correct handwashing technique as one of the ways to stop the spread of germs.

3. Define COVID-19 as a virus that can make people sick.

4. Identify ways that people can minimize the spread of COVID-19.
