Elementary Youth with Special Needs: Internet Surfin’ Safety

Students will learn about the pros and cons of using the internet and how
to keep themselves as safe as possible with good passwords tips, being aware of
dangerous sites, and appropriate online behavior. Safety information regarding
online friends will be shared as well as what to do in the case of
cyberbullying.

Schedule 5 of the same program on the same day and one will be free! Please include a purchase order number when you submit a reservation. Bridging fees will be paid by the customer. Format

1. We start out with going through internet pros and cons.
2. Then we discuss what is safe and what is not safe to share.
3. We talk about dangerous sites and cyber bullying.
4. then we watch a video and decided I they are practicing internet safety or not.
5. Lastly, we talk about what to do if there is an issue on the internet.

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:

1. Define internet safety and why it is important.

2. State four aspects to staying safe online.

3. List resources available if feeling endangered or uncomfortable from an interaction on the internet.
