Format
1. This program begins by discussing what sugar is and
the difference between added and naturally occurring
sugars
2. Then participants learn how much added sugar is ok
and what other names sugar is called
3. We discuss the health outcomes caused by consuming
too much added sugar
4. Then participants engage in an activity where they
guess how much added sugar is in some common
drinks
5. Participants learn how to read food labels and portion
control
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:
1. Define added sugar.
2. Name one way too much sugar can harm the body.
3. Name at least one way to reduce added sugar in the diet.
