Format

-Introduction to program and presenter
-What is New Year's?
-What is a tradition?
-Feature 7-10 different traditions from a select number of countries. Countries from all seven continents will be featured.
-Discussion with presenter(s) that will allow participants to compare and contrast how different cultures around the world celebrate the new year.
-Conclusion (Q&A)

Objectives

Participants will:
-be introduced to a variety of cultural traditions in order to develop an understanding of the world around them.
-explore the origins and histories of several traditions.
-compare and contrast customs as a way to make connections to their own lives.
