Ocean Wise is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower communities and individuals to take action to protect and restore our world's oceans.


Live workshops guided by Ocean Wise experts, focus on inquiry-based learning with an environmental and climate change focus. Not your average digital workshops, students will play mini-games, lead their own discussions, and enjoy some surprises along the way. Using scientific findings and data collected by Ocean Wise’s world-renowned research team, they will get an inside view of the latest climate and ocean science and come away feeling empowered to make positive change.

Program Details

Format

1. This program begins with an introduction to Ocean Wise and it's initiatives
2. We then explore what coral reef systems are and their role in oceans
3. We meet a sea turtle who asks the students to help collect clues and bring the superhero of the reef back to the reef
4. Participants interact with other animals who love in the reef and collect clues as to who the superhero is
5. After the superhero returns, we explore food chains and the role of keystone species in oceans
6. Time is allowed for Q&A

1. Develop an appreciation for sharks for coral reefs
2. Understand the role each living thing has on the planet
3. Engage in discussions around plastic pollution and supporting life underwater
