Program Details

Format

1. The program begins by viewing the night sky from your location to find visible planets.
2. We will take off Earth to view the Solar System and participants will choose planets to investigate further.
3. Leaving the Solar System, either the program leader or participants will choose a topic to investigate in the Milky Way from the following: life cycles of stars, black holes, the search for life in space, distances to stars, or any other astronomy topic to be requested in advance.
4. We will then fly outside of our galaxy to investigate the structure and scale of the Universe.
5. Time is set aside for Q&A.

Objectives

-Discover the locations of planets in the current night sky
-Investigate differences between planets in the Solar System.
-Explore the Milky Way to investigate a deeper astronomy topic (listed above).
-Better understand the size and structure of the Universe
