What was it like to be a child living in early American times? Participants will act out the daily activities of an early 1800s child, problem-solving the challenges they faced and comparing it with life today.

Explore the challenges 19th century immigrants encountered and the reasons why so many left their home county. Participants take on the role of real immigrants and use the Museum’s artifacts to understand the choices these individuals faced.
