A museum that inspires students to write! American Writers Museum is a unique museum, being the first and only national museum honoring American writers and their work, with interactive exhibits and programs that celebrate the past, promote the present and inspire the future of writing in the United States. American Writers Museum offers a wide variety of educational opportunities, both in-person and online. When students are at the museum or on a virtual field trip, they start to better understand why writing matters, and how they can make a difference through their own writing.  Virtual Field Trips feature three live and interactive activities: Guided Exploration of the American Writers Museum or two online exhibits, Mind of a Writer live activities including gameplay and pop quizzes, and Ask A Writer discussions with contemporary writers. The online educational program also offers downloadable curriculum for students to use at their pace, videos of renowned authors and more.
